I grew up in south Louisiana and lived for a couple of years in Mississippi and North Carolina as my Dad, a combat veteran Marine, pursued his theological education to become a pastor. My parents divorced when I was fifteen, and my sister and I lived with our Mom in a small apartment but moved various times around our school district because Mom had trouble paying the bills. Dad stayed in our house until it burned down. He left town but occasionally showed up for important events.

At seventeen, I graduated high school and enlisted into the Louisiana Army National Guard where I trained as a Medic, an Interrogator, and a Counter-Intelligence Agent as well as a Spanish and German Linguist. I used the GI Bill and Louisiana National Guard Tuition Exemption to enroll into Louisiana State University where I studied "Comparative Ancient Religions" until I was advised that the Army would not commission me into the Infantry with a degree in Religion. I changed my major to "General Studies" and continued taking classes in Religions, History, and Philosophy. I was mobilized with the 256th Infantry Brigade for Desert Storm, but the operation ended before we deployed. I enrolled into Army ROTC and joined the Bengal Raider (Cadet Ranger) team as a trainee and worked my way up to Cadet First Sergeant then Executive Officer then Commander of the Bengal Raiders and the Cadet Ranger Challenge Team. I earned slots to Airborne and Air Assault Schools while a Cadet. I graduated with a BA in General Studies and earned a Regular Army Infantry Commission from ROTC.

A few weeks after graduation/Commissioning, I reported to Fort Benning, Georgia, where I qualified as an Infantry Officer and as a Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle Commander. I reported to Fort Riley, Kansas, where I was assigned as a Platoon Leader in Delta (Terminator) Company of 2/16 Infantry and led my platoon to earn Top Gun in tactics and gunnery. I served in other assignments until my wife left me, and I resigned my commission to take care of my family. I took a job in a steel mill in northeast Texas and got my family back together.

A few years later, I was offered the opportunity to serve as a church planter in the Peruvian Amazon. We accepted the mission and had our seventh child shortly after arriving in Peru. After about a year in the jungle, I spoke with a woman who wanted to know if Jesus would still love her if she had an abortion. I advised her that Jesus would always love her no matter what but asked her to keep her baby. We offered to pay all of her pre- and post-natal care as well as to help her find a job and a home so she could take care of the baby and the three kids she already had. She said she was still going to have an abortion because she could not take care of another baby. I offered to adopt her child. She accepted. We soon discovered that she was pregnant with twins. We were missionaries with seven kids living on donations from Christians in the US. She gave birth to very weak and ill twins. After five days in the hospital, they came to live with us. We were awarded legal custody after a month.

A year later, my wife left us. I had to take our seven kids back to the US, but the twins could not accompany us because the adoption was not final. I hired a family friend to care for the twins until I could return for them. I returned to the US in the middle of a divorce with no car, no house, no job, seven children in the US, two children in Peru, no plan how I would feed any of the kids, and a growing conviction that God was not listening to my prayers. A family of our old friends took us in for a short while until I got a job as a janitor, found a condemned house to live in while the owner brought it up to code, borrowed a minivan with 250K miles, and applied to re-commission into the Army.

I re-commissioned as a 38-year-old Infantry First Lieutenant (All of my classmates were Majors and Lieutenant Colonels.) and was assigned as a Plans Officer. After completing the planning project, I was promoted to Captain and selected to Command (Ironhorse) A Company (Sapper) 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. A short while later, we received orders to deploy to Iraq. Five days before we deployed, my ex-wife took custody of our seven kids from me. My company was expanded from 89 to 131 Soldiers, and we were attached to the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force in Iraq as their Base Defense Operations Company. The company performed exceptionally well, and we all came home. Within a couple of years, two of my Men (any of whom I would have died to protect) had killed themselves. Many others are dealing with a range of issues which I am convinced I failed to prevent.

Upon my return, I experienced the unimaginable Grace of marrying a Good Woman. She lived in West Virginia and asked me to join her here. I had no home anywhere else; so, I left the alluvial plain and gladly became a Mountaineer.

Julie and I went to Peru for our honeymoon and promised the twins that we would bring them home to West Virginia. For the next few years, I was required by an international treaty dealing with adoption to aggregate two documented years living in Peru with the twins; so, shortly after we were married, I began sharing my time between Peru and the US. During this time, I served in the Maryland National Guard (The Officer Recruiter for the WV National Guard assured me that there were no opportunities for an Officer with my credentials in West Virginia, but Maryland offered me a promotion to Major to assist with their Emergency Operations planning.), wrote and published a novel, won election and re-election to the WV House of Delegates representing south Berkeley County, earned a Master of Arts in National Security, and assisted with the coordination of operations between US and Republic of Korea Forces (ROK) while Kim Jung Un threatened to invade ROK.

After I was selected for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel, we were advised that the twins' Immigration visas had been approved by the US State Department. I submitted my retirement paperwork to the National Guard and so, forfeited the promotion opportunity I had earned and began preparations to return to Peru to prepare the twins to come home. In 2019, the State Chairman of the West Virginia Republican Party told me to "get out" of the party which had been my political home my entire adult life because all I did was, as she said, was "walk around spouting the Constitution at everyone all the time."

Since then, I ran as a write-in candidate for Governor in 2020 with the, now defunct, Independent Party of West Virginia and, in 2024, for Governor as the Constitution Party candidate. Now, I serve you as the Constitution Party candidate for US Senator representing West Virginia.

When I wear shoes, I usually wear two. I do try with all that is in me to be a Good Man. I define "Good Man" as a faithful follower of Christ. I fail in that endeavor constantly and outrageously, but I will not fail to endeavor.

Aside from rare small donations, my campaigns are self-funded.

I will talk with and listen to anyone who cares to converse with me.

In this political revolution to restore the Republic by re-establishing Constitutional governance, we have been encouraged greatly by your kind words, your declarations to your friends that you support our efforts, and your helping us to spread the word. Each time, I learn that one of my friends has encouraged someone else to vote for me, I am humbled and honored. We are undoubtedly gaining momentum, and we need to increase our efforts.

Our campaign team is composed completely of volunteers - normal people with families and jobs - who take time away from their families, expend their own time, gas, money, and efforts to ensure that my efforts as your candidate are successful.

I have driven an estimated 3,432 miles so far this election cycle and taken weeks away from my family. (Of course, Joe sometimes travels with me, but I've spent weeks away from home.) Of the $43,149.23 donated to our campaign to date, Julie and I have donated $40,665.14. (We are very particular which donations we will accept, and we prefer that they come from West Virginians.) I do not expect to spend more than a week, total, at home between now and November 3 (Election Day). We are fully invested and working tirelessly because the goal - "to secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" - is worthy of everything we have to give.

I tell you this not to brag or to ask for sympathy but to advise you that our campaign is a worthy investment for your time, effort, and funds.

This is not about me winning a position in Government.
This is about us establishing a position from which to begin restoring our Government to its Constitutional boundaries.

We should and can win this election. We have two months. We need your help.
